A Long, Busy Week Ahead...

This is going to be a long, busy, exhausting, refreshing, rejuvenating, powerful, and productive week. That may sound pretty confusing, but let me explain what is ahead:

  • Today we start a congregational retreat with Mark Love, prof of ministry at ACU. He is going to attempt to help us understand our missional identity as people of God, called to be sent into the world.
  • Monday through Wednesday, I will be at the Rochester College Sermon Seminar. This year we will sit at the feet of the likes of Fred Craddock and Morna Hooker and engage the "Preaching Mark's Unsettling Gospel." A lot of my old cohorts from ACU-GST will be here. I am anxious to see them.
  • Wednesday through Friday, I will be at a contemplative retreat at St. Benedict's Monastery that will follow be a personal and transformative focus on the Gospel of Mark and the life of the minister. It will be a much needed escape and time of rejuvenation and encounter with God.
  • Saturday morning Natalie and I head off to celebrate our second wedding anniversary. It will be a wonderful time in a new part of the Michigan hand, just off of Lake Michigan.

After all of that, I have to figure out how to come back to work. I don't know if I will be able to remember how to do anything!

So, things may be fairly silent for the couple of weeks. Forgive me. More will come soon.

Grace and peace through Jesus Christ our Lord.
