Early Thanksgiving (with a Little Trepidation)

Today, after two weeks of wondering and worrying, my mother had an appointment with a neurologist. She has been dealing with extreme weakness in her extremities, primarily her arms and legs. After a barrage of tests, the neurologist has ruled out some of the more debilitating, if not terminal diseases, such as ALS and MS. Yet, we still do not know what is causing the problem. She could still be dealing with Guillian-Barre Syndrome, Myasthenia Gravis, or a number of other things. Time and more tests will tell.
We are still feeling the anxiety and the trepidation that come when you are facing the unknown, but for now we are celebrating that some of the more difficult and challenging potential problems have been ruled out. That is something for which to be thankful.
