Books for Tykes

I just recently got a mixed birthday / "welcome to parenthood" present from my Chelsa and Ryan (my sister- and brother-in-law). In an effort to feed my sick addiction to paper and ink, they gave me Shel Silverstein's classic children's book, Where the Sidewalk Ends. (Silverstein also wrote the classic The Giving Tree.)

I must admit, this was a wonderful and brilliant gift. Though Chelsa rightly wrote in her card that it might be a little advanced for a newborn, I have already been flipping through the pages, anxiously dreaming about the day I will get to share the brilliant drawings, writings, and creative insights with my little son or daughter.

October isn't too far away!!! (Can't you just hear the Warrant music echoing in the background?) I can't wait for fatherhood and sharing my addiction to books and sports with our child!
