My profile picture was taken three years ago today. The only reason that is significant is that it was taken the day after N & I arrived in Michigan in Penny the Penskie to begin our tenure with the LOCC. It's been an interesting three years, to say the least. There have been good moments and some extremely bad moments. There have been days when we've felt like family here and days when we feel like outsiders, mere hirelings here to serve others. There have been days when we've been optimistic about the life and ministry of this church family and days when we feel like we're in a futile, hopeless quagmire of complacency and consternation.
But, we've grown; I think LO has grown; and we're spreading our wing in faith together right now. There will continue to be days when I'm hopeful and days when I simply undone, but I trust in the faithfulness of God to be wherever people are gathering and covenanting to partner with one another and the Spirit to bring about God's purposes for the world. I hope and pray that we will grow into and become that kind of people at LOCC.
