Books for Tykes, cont.

In my first post yesterday, I mentioned my recent acquisition of Silverstein's Where the Sidewalk Ends as a birthday/ "welcome to fatherhood" present. Today, as I was driving around, I thought it would be fun to see some of your thoughts on the children's books that you loved growing up or that you have loved sharing with and reading to the children you love.

Any thoughts or suggestions? What kids' books are near to your hearts?

What a great book. I used to love that one. Good call, Travis.

Oh, deep within my heart that remains a place for "Green Eggs and Ham" (not the color distinction between the eggs and ham). Perhaps I'm a sucker for good rhymes...or maybe the book always satisfied a longing for food.
